I had a really great four mile run today. I've been going out during lunch on Tuesdays, since I find that to be the most convenient time to squeeze the run into my schedule. I just started a 12-week training plan to train for a 10K. My marathon training starts in twelve weeks, and my first long run of marathon training is a six miler. A 10K is 6.2 miles, so I figured training for a 10K would get me into good shape to start marathon training with less risk of injury. "Building a base," if you will
